Club Teams

The Club runs a number of teams in various leagues for players of all levels of chess ability.

The Club’s First Team currently plays in the Yorkshire Chess Association League in the Woodhouse Cup. This is the premier division of the YCA League

The Club’s Second Team currently plays in the YCA League in the Silver Rook. The Silver Rook is the 3rd division of the YCA League.

The Club’s Third Team plays in the A. G. Sunderland Cup which is a special tournament run mainly for Juniors, although a lot of adults also like to play.

The first, second and third teams play on a Saturday afternoon. The Club also runs an Evening League Team who play home matches on a Monday evening and away matches on various evenings.

The Club’s Evening League Team currently plays in the Huddersfield Evening League Examiner Handicap.

This year, the Club has decided to enter a second Evening League Team in the Huddersfield Evening League. This team will play in the Watkinson Trophy.
